In large archives and in their fully spun-down state, each petabyte of storage draws roughly 100 watts per year, delivering power efficiency that tape-based systems and proprietary disk platforms cannot match.
Unlike LTO or ODA, ALTO stores files in a transparent, disk-native format. Assets managed within Meta8 Private Cloud, synchronized on-premise, or maintained as a fully air-gapped copy remain directly readable in the future on any standard PC, Mac, or Linux system.
No legacy tape drives, robotic libraries, or proprietary recovery software are required.
